Buying my first 50 gold eagle coins
I went crazy buying up some 50 gold eagle bullion coins last week. My wife had always been partial to these Canadian maple leaves, but I wanted to try something a little closer to home, so I got 50 eagles.
50 gold eagles pretty much bled my bank account dry but since i bought them I feel good about the investment. I mean, lets be honest; my money is not going to bring as great returns as gold or silver will over the long haul. So I plan to hold onto these gold eagles for a good long time.
We sold about 5 dozen coins to buy my wife’s corvette last year. These are coins that I spent $300 a piece for in 1985. So if you ask me it was a great investment at the time. No bank would have given me nearly four fold returns, so i hope to do the same, come 20 years from now!
